In 2024, the 45th AKBC-KABC Joint Meeting was held in Perth, and brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts. During the event, we heard from an array of distinguished speakers including:

  • Hon Roger Cook MLA, Premier of Western Australia
  • Senator the Hon Don Farrell MP, Minister for Trade and Tourism
  • Hon Madeleine King MP, Minster for Resources and Minister for Northern Australia
  • In-kyo Cheong, Korean Minister for Trade, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE)
  • H. E. Jeff Robinson, Australian Ambassador to Korea
  • H. E. Admiral (Retd) Seung-seob Sim, Korean Ambassador to Australia

Held in the second half of this year, the 46th Joint Meeting in Seoul promises to provide our members with opportunities to profile how they are contributing to the growing Australia-Korea bilateral relationship, expand their network and deepen their understanding of the latest developments and opportunities in the Australia-Korea relationship.

Hon. Martin Ferguson AM, the Chairman of the AKBC, will lead the Australian delegation, and Dr. In-wha Chang, the Chairman of the KABC and the CEO and Chair of POSCO will lead the Korean delegation. Presentations and discussions at the Joint Meeting will focus on decarbonisation, energy transition, defence and space, education, AI, financial services, food and agriculture and critical minerals. A number of sideline events will also be hosted by AKBC and our partners.
