45th AKBC-KABC Joint Meeting Summary

The Australia-Korea Business Council is excited to announce that our annual flagship event, the Joint Meeting between the Australia-Korea Business Council (AKBC) and the Korea-Australia Business Council (KABC) will be held in Perth, Western Australia on 1-3 September 2024. This meeting will address the most recent advancements in the bilateral relationship between Australia and Korea, and celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the signing of the Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement.

The 45th AKBC-KABC Joint Meeting will see senior business executives, industry leaders, and key decision makers from the Australian and Korean bilateral corridor meet and engage together. The Hon Martin Ferguson AM, Chairman of the AKBC will lead the Australian delegation, and In-hwa Chang, CEO of POSCO Group and Chairman of the KABC will lead the Korean delegation.

This year, the theme is "Navigating global shifts: Korea, Australia and the future." It will explore the dynamic interplay between our two countries against the backdrop of a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape. The meeting agenda will delve into the strategic partnerships, economic synergies, and cultural exchanges that define the relationship between Korea and Australia. The 45th AKBC-KABC Joint Meeting will also examine how both Korea and Australia are adapting to geopolitical shifts, technological advancements, and decarbonisation challenges to shape our shared future.


The meeting will be based at Crown Perth, this annual conference is open exclusively to AKBC members, and is one of the key membership benefits of the AKBC.
